About Cassata

Cassata High School is a nonprofit, outreach program of the Fort Worth Catholic Diocese that welcomes students of all faiths. Cassata does not offer a religious curriculum but works to instill strong values in its students. The staff serves as mentors, not just teachers. Expectations for students are high and Cassata’s firm model of discipline provides a safe, orderly and positive environment that enables students to achieve their goals.

Cassata’s diversity is considered one of its greatest assets and we welcome students of all faiths, ethnicities and cultures. Our 2008-09 student body previously attended 72 different public and private schools, and came from 46 different zipcodes. Cassata’s primary activity is its High School Program which is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Texas Catholic Conference. We also offer GED preparation.

Our History

Cassata was established in 1975 by two visionary Catholic Nuns to fill a need in the community and help students who did not respond to a traditional educational environment earn a high school diploma.

Sister Mary Bonaventure and Sister Mary Vernard Fulbright co-founded Cassata Learning Center (now Cassata High School), a non-traditional school with small class sizes, self-paced curriculum, and personalized instruction designed to meet the needs of young people seeking an alternative to a traditional high school.  Since 1975, Cassata has served the needs of over 3,500 students and the school’s mission remains the same: To provide effective, quality education that enables students of all backgrounds to raise their educational level and complete their secondary education.
