Congratulations to Cassata High School’s 28 newest alumni!
The May 2011 class of graduates celebrated commencement on May 20, 2011 at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in the Great Hall. Mr. Anthony Sampson, a representative of the 100 Black Men of Greater DFW, delivered the commencement address. Valedictorian was Thomas Kulpa and salutatorian was Brenda Herrera.
Many of the graduates faced significant barriers to obtaining an education—42% of graduates were the first in their family to earn a high school diploma; 18% are teen parents; and 11% were over the age of 21.
However, Cassata is pleased to announce that 86% of the May 2011 graduates are now headed to college, trade school or the military! This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering the long road that many Cassata graduates had to travel.
Congrats again to the May 2011 graduates!
