We deeply value our volunteer support and offer many group and individual opportunities.

A mentoring program that links Cassata students with community role models.

Mentors and students meet twice a month at the school for one hour over lunch.  A mentor offers guidance, moral support, encouragement and special recognition to Cassata students. In addition, some mentors choose to sponsor their mentee by helping with a portion or all of their monthly tuition.

All mentors must take a “Keeping Children Safe” class through the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. Classes are held at parishes throughout the Metroplex and a schedule is available through the diocesan website.

Applications for the Fall 2012 Cassata Connections program will be available in August.

Reading Improvement Coaches: Unfortunately, many of Cassata’s students test below a 5th grade level on their entrance reading exams. Many of these students have been allowed to progress in their previous schools after years of cleverly disguising their problems. They come to Cassata frustrated as their poor reading skills have negatively impacted all academic subjects, often to the point of dropping out.
Reading Improvement coaches work with students to help them overcome obstacles with reading and writing. Tutoring shifts are from 9-11 am or 1 to 3pm. To sign-up as a Reading Improvement Coach, email Principal Nancy Martin at nmartin@cassatahs.org

College Prep Mentor

Approximately 40% of Cassata students are the first in their family to graduate from high school—let alone pursue a college education. College prep mentors help students research their options for college, investigate financial aid and scholarship options and work on college entrance essays. Tutoring shifts are from 9-11 am or 1 to 3pm. To sign-up as a College Prep Mentor, email Principal Nancy Martin at nmartin@cassatahs.org
