3.26.2020 Message from President, Dr. Harrison

Dear Cassata Community,  We hope that this message finds you and your loved ones in good health and spirits.  The new and ever changing reality requires all of us to be extremely patient, flexible, and creative, and we have worked diligently to make sure our students can continue learning and making progress.  We are already in week two of our online instruction. So far, teachers have heard from only about 30% of our students and helped them with coursework as well as course completion. A few students started new classes.  Please know that no matter how challenging this time may be for you, we are here to help and guide you through your academics, to offer motivation, as well as virtual community (in class and outside).  Here are a few reminders and announcements: 1) ALL students MUST be working on their assignments and submit them to their teachers regularly.  2) Students, if you are able to submit your work electronically (rather than via mailbox outside the building) please do so. This allows your teachers to grade them faster and also minimizes your own need to leave your home.

3) For attendance purposes, every student MUST contact each of their teachers at least twice a week (by email or during a Zoom meeting).

4) Students are required to attend Zoom meetings with their teachers. Zoom can be accessed on all devices - including cell phones

5) Starting next week, StuCo, Gaming Club, Cooking Club, as well as Prayer Group will be hosting their own Zoom meetings. Please check emails and Facebook posts for more details.  Graduating Seniors, please do not despair! You can still graduate in May, but you have to make sure to keep up with your schoolwork and stay in touch with your teachers and with Ms. Nogic. Last but not least, as many of you may have heard, per Judge Whitley’s Executive Order, Tarrant County is under a stay-at-home order.  Link to Executive Order can be found here.

Please observe this order to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe and healthy.

While this means that our movements are limited, for the time being, we are still able to “Travel to or from educational institutions for purposes of receiving materials for distance learning, for receiving meals, and any other related services.”  We will continue to go to campus and check the mailbox but will limit these visits to only a couple per week.

The full document containing the said order has been added as an attachment to this email.

Thank you for being a part of our community! If you haven’t already, contact us, reach out to the teachers. We are all here for you and are praying for you! Stay safe, stay healthy! God bless,

Maggie Harrison, Ph.D. President Cassata Catholic High School 1400 Hemphill Street Fort Worth, TX 76104 Tel: 817.926.1745 Fax: 817.926.3132 www.cassatahs.org
